    Flex Products, Inc. of Santa Rosa, CA a leader in super-thin, space-age coating technology, has introduced these innovative and exciting color-changing effects to paint by producing a unique pigment called ChromaFlair. This pigment is made from microscopic flakes that control light to reflect and intensify color, depending on the viewing angle.



    Painters around the country say that paint based on ChromaFlair pigment shoots like any other paint product they've used. Formulated with the same components as regular paint, BASF has released the ExtremeTM line incorporating ChromaFlair pigments.

    Color by Physics technology



    ChromaFlair pigment is the pinnacle of high tech color control. When light hits, it becomes like prisms exploding with intense color. Flex Products calls this new process "Color by Physics" because the interaction of the light and the thickness of the ChromaFlair pigments determine the color reflected to your eye. This method of color creation is entirely unique to the world of automotive finishes.

    Precision Manufacturing


    ChromaFlair pigment is created using a precision manufacturing process. Each prism-like flake is a precisely formed sandwich of thin films. Each flake has a thickness of 40 millionths of an inch - or 1/50th the thickness of a human hair - controlled to a tolerance of within a few atoms. Precision manufacturing results in incredibly intense, deeply lustrous colors that retain their brilliance because there are no organic materials that will fade.
